    Hey guys,

Here is a side-by-side comparison between the raw render and final image:

The lady (and I really should have mentioned this before) is a full-body 3D scan by Artec, which is available to download, together with quite a few other scans, from their website.

        Hi Bertrand!
already posted how i like those on your site
have you managed to get this post only from the beauty pass or are you comping the images together from the individual layers?

I'm using the beauty pass together with GI, direct light and reflection passes for the comp. No ZDepth as I'm using in-render DOF in this case.
Compositing in 32-bit for nice glows.

Amazing images as always from you...

Just curious which blend mode you used for GI and direct light, "Soft light" family maybe? There is no much info about this over there...

Regarding passes those are VrayRaw ones on standard VrayReflection , GI , etc?

Regarding those models......I checked them out, downloaded pbj, ply and stl versions. There seems to be something wonky going on with texture coordinates on import. They look like hell imported in max with textures, but importing the obj into rhino, it looks great. Problem is the rhino model is made up of separated faces, and welding it together makes it look like the max import. How did you get these working?

Hmm...seems I posted prematurely. Seems to render fine, but viewport display is not right.

Yes, the textures are strange, they need a bit of work but it is possible to reconstruct them and yes, they will not look good in the viewport, or even in the render if you get too close.

The passes are standard passes, using either substract or linear dodge depending on whether you want to increase or reduce the contribution of the pass to the beauty pass (in 32-bit).

EDIT: four hours would perhaps not be quite the average. I had enormous variations depending on the images. Anything with fur and displacement considerably increases render time. In the close-ups, the refractive mats and metals (2-layered) took astonishingly long to render, with buckets getting stuck on the glasses forever (with neither caustics nor dispersion).
I make the bucket size smaller when have refractive materials. Not a big deal and no speed gain until the last bucket but at least I see some progress and last bucket doesn't take forever but divided into cores.

Hi Pixela. Thanks a lot. Yes I do that too. I always thought it was just me being impatient but the point about sharing the last, very long bucket between several cores is a good one.
