  • Hospital animation

Here is a video we just completed for a new public hospital in Perth, Australia:

We provided the animated clips. The presentation was edited by a video production company we partnered with for this project.

As you would expect there were a lot of stakeholders from both the private and public sector so it was interesting trying to keep everyone happy .

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to watch.

    Cheers.

Awesome. The people in this one is kinda same as what you posted in another thread recently, however these ones don't bother me and they kinda "work". I like this one very much.
How many people worked on the animation part and how long did it take?
You guys work on some interesting projects
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

      Hi, Morne.
Yep we are using some of the same an(i)ma people as the train station video I posted the other week. We have streamlined the workflow a bit with them so they move a bit more naturally.

This also has some regular AXYZ and Rocketbox people as well.

We are a two man crew, this was done over a coupla months with a few other jobs simmering away in the background as well.

Thanks for looking, and for the comments.

Yes it's very nice work, can I ask what the back and forth was like with the client? I mean did they come to you knowing what they wanted, did you pre viz all the scenes, and how did you handle unforeseen changes?

            Hi from another Aussie

That is a LOT of work for just 2 people.....congratulations on doing such a good job!

Just doing all those 3D people must have taken so much work...anyone one who has had a go at 3d people would surely agree! It's a whole different skill set to be able to animate people so even though they are not movie quality you have certainly done extremely well for the man hours you put in.

My only critic is that the DOF seems a bit too strong at times as it looks a bit like a tilt-shift-camera, making everything look miniature.

Some vray atmoshphere may also help with realism as well....but only if you have the spare render time?? Even a simple distance fog with Z-depth in post is enough sometimes.

Also what Tree software did you use for all the Flora??

            Cheers

            Jamie

Hi, I should have specified that we did receive some untextured 3D models from the client (Exterior building shells, some of the park ground surfaces, some roads, and the main concourse area). However, there was a fair amount of modification to be done to the models supplied, as they were out of date. All of the architecture in the interior scenes was modeled by us. But yes this job kept us pretty busy.

We supplied a costing to the client that was "modular". ie We provided a "cost per scene" and they were able to pick and choose what they wanted in a general sense. There was a video production company involved who prepared the script and did the final edit. They did a few drafts of the script as we were building the scenes so things were pretty well locked down by the time it came to animate.

We recommended green screen people for the "feature shots" as you never have the emotional connection with 3D people, but client did not have the budget for that. So we did as best as we could to get everything in they wanted with 3D people. SOme character shots definitely work better than others.

Yeah I agree we can get carried away sometimes, like a kid with a new toy.

Mostly xFrog purchased models, some hand modeled stuff, all put in the scene with ForestPro. The landscaping schedule was quite thorough so planting took a fair amount of time.

This is a really impressive piece of work; so many specific requirements have been delivered really well, and optimised for the time provided. For me the Ford focus is always a more impressive piece of design than the ferrari due to countless design constraints, and requirements; for the same reason this impresses me alot more than a highly polished still. great skills!

I agree with the others users.

Very nice job and for "two people&one month" job it's a very good result.
