  • Abocanhado

    Hello all,

    This project was inspired in the beautiful Abocanhado Restaurant created by António Portugal, located in the Natural Park of Gerês.

    For this commissioned job we had to change some of the interior materials of the original architecture, like the floor and ceiling, and give it a more housing look with better natural light inside. After the commissioned job was completed, we switched some models with some of the amazing furnitures etc by BBB3 and created this set of images.

    Our new official facebook page is online now, other shoots of the same project are there:

      Great work - only crit would be to introduce 'slightly' warmer lighting to interior to contrast more with 'cold' exterior. quite muted presently, and I assume you want it to feel warm inside....

      try a quick and dirty in pshop - select outside area and make much more blueish, and then select interior areas and make yellower. I bet itll look moar better.

        All renderings are amazing! I have noticed in your renderings and also in few other artist renderings here, a perfect colour balance and spot on materials. most of the renderings I see are with some colour cast or too much color bleed but your renders r just perfect.. I wonder is this controlled entirely in max or in post?

              Very nice. Great showcase for the furniture too. Love how you handled the marble tiles inside. Did you displace the planks on the terrace or is this the Floor Generator?

                Many thanks all!

                Thanks for the hint. Will try it!

                A lot of light and color balance is done during the rendering tests. I tend to desaturate colors a lot and avoid strong colors. During post produc i struggle a lot to find a nice color balance. Takes me a lot of time sometimes and each render has a slightly different balance. I think all comes down to a lot of practice of the eye and the way you look into reality.

                @BBB3
                Im glad you liked them. For sometime I had this urge to create something with your furniture. Best there is!
                About the deck, floor generator was used to create them and also vray displacemnt. Plank texture is quite low quality. When i went to the Abocanhado Restaurant all I had was a very conventional camera to take some photos. :/

                    Very nice renders, but being peeky I would only say it need warmer tone from the fireplace, the frosting in the window is a bit overdone and look paint over and the scaling of the textures of the stone wall behind, not the size of the bricks but the inside texture seem a bit off....but being really peeky, nice mood overall and nice camera angles. Good work.

                        I like the subtle colors very much. One thing though, I don't think new windows like those would have frost unless they have been installed poorly and even if they did, that looks more like powdered sugar. Apart from that very nice mood, especially in pics 1 and 2!
