  • Log Church

Here is a log church that I am working on. I know, "aren't churches supposes to be bright and sunny?" Anyway... I went with a sunrise.

I had large render times, so I had to use low settings, which made it a little muddy. I hope that the moon isn't cheesy. I was driving home a couple month's ago and I saw the moon, like this image, over my church. I made a mental note to do a render with a moon.

My pavement scale is off, so I chopped most of it away.

Nice work Bobby!. That sky [& moon] fit the scene perfectly. your best sky ever in my opinion!

I would like to mention though that the use of foreground plants in most of your renders I find way too distracting & seems to always detract from all your Skills & hard work.
Composition-wise, everything about your render looks fine except for the foreground shrubs growing in the grass. They just draw too much attention.
I really believe your work would be so much better if you got rid of anything distracting in the foreground. The foreground should always lead your eyes to the center [or main focus] of the render.
Possibly your common use of a square aspect ratio for the render forces you to try & fill up the foreground???
In a 16x9 ratio you rarely have to worry about the foreground as it's mostly not seen, & the bonus is that is prints nicely on standard paper sizes.

      Hope this helps

great advice! I was trying to lead the viewer to the right of the scene, which is the church addition. I'll work on the over the weekend.

Great work! I think that you should slightly rotate the two trees on the left (seems to be cloned) and erase the car on the right side... i like the moon...

I actually like the first image better! Don't know, for me, those foreground shrubbery give me safety, and I relax on them before moving on to the rest of the render (maybe only remove that far left pine tree). The whole render is so cosy! The atmosphere, time of the day, I really like it!
Also love the trees in the background!

Hm....did anyone notice how we all comment mostly on everything else but the subject of all our renders? For me, I work like that too. I do the building/house, whatever, and than it's fun time, I work and look at surroundings the most lol...I finally started to make perfect grass IMO, and most clients don't even notice that. I often forget to fix things on my buildings because I keep looking at shrubbery ha ha

Thanks for the feedback. I personally don't care much for this one, but I enjoy hearing some like it. I worked on it a little over the weekend, but I couldn't do much more with it so, I am calling it done.
