  • A drowning man simulation

    Hi guys,

heres my newest R&D with PHX.

    https://vimeo.com/52378186

    Cell size 0.43cm
    total cells 21 million
sim time per frame around 2-3min
render time 4-8min per frame with motion blur
EDIT: oh, how I forgot that of course those frames where the guy struggles and wave hands, it took over 30 minutes to render. Moblur+water, expensive stuff D

    Nice! Love the foam motion.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

good job! the only detail that disturbs me are the tracks over the window after the 11th second.

Yeah Ivo, I dont actually know what cause it. My first test with a bit different SPF values creates no artifact over the window. I also change the animation of the character so it could cause it too.
But still im very happy how easy it is to create an effect like this by using Phoenix!
        You rock guys.

what is the voxel mode, perhaps this is a group of cells with air in them? i mean perhaps you are not using gizmo+inscribed voxels, and this is the reason.

Perhaps, but I always use inscribed mode with water but here didnt use any gizmo to cut cause my first simulation works fine. It was a bit a surprise to find out from rendered image that something get stuck to the window.
