  • Ibanez RG 7

Here is a new picture I'm working on. My Ibanez has been dying to get 3D, so I finally obliged.

I am thinking of a setting to put this in, but for now here is a shot of the render.

Modeled in Max 6 and rendered with VRay.

Cool, The modeling looks great. Can't wait to see a cool environment rendering. How did you approach the pearl markers?

Nice mate. I like it. Nice modelling. Only thing im not crazy about is the finish on the body of the guitar (sorry, don't know the technical name). But I suppose that's because there is no environment yet. I would increase the reflection amount on the wood, and definitely increase the value of the ubiquitous kitchen.hdr map, then sit back and let the praise come in.
      Good work.

      Regards,

      Marc

        Thanks for the comments.

The body finish is supposed to be a deep purple red color with gold flakes in it. Not highly reflective. As a matter of fact, this is very close to how my guitar looks. Who says that is the Kitchen probe? :P

J_Bug: I made a mask material for the markers. I used the Perlin Marble Procedural and just changed the color and put some reflectivity.

Actually, for fun, I'm probably going to composite the guitar into a pic...just for the helluva it.

          looking good...

my only coment would be on the neck, it looks a little bit thick and somehow square at the back...

the fret markers also look quite thick...

i think the body material looks great!
