UBIK: the wiper speed isn't dictated by connection speed. I'm on 4mbit ADSL here, and it is unbearably slow. And I know a lot of the other guys in this thread are on high speed connections too. It's just a matter of shortening the animation in flash.

Infact I think elf is the only one on adsl, atleast I hope so for you guys :P
But in general I HATE things that slow a site down like wipes/transitions and intros, these is just things you can't wait to click trough. Make any of this on your site and I'll put a "bad designer" sticker on your forehead :P

I hate flash sites that open a popup window with html content on every navi button you click...
Intro's are usually there because clients like that, they wanna see moving things.
Imo flash is just a bitmap trasher and 99% of the people use it in a very wrong way (on websites that is). You have to be a real guru to make a full flash site that is still managable and that has a decent navi. It has so many disadvantages that you need damn good reasons to justify its use.
I like most of your images, they are very clean, I like the style, good work!

I think images are nice and is good to see those black and white skeches in web sites.
I understand that is a new web site and it will evolve on time.
I still think the transitions dont make it any favours but then i am quite impatient guy.....
All the best matelet it be light

I think flash actually offeres many advantages over html...like coss-platform/cross-browser compatibility...which can be a nightmare w/ html/javascript/java/ and so forth.......
flash give you a nice compact, single file type that you can work with....especially since browsers come with the plugin player already installed......
that doesn't mean one has to ALWAYS use flash, but I think it's much more powerfull and usefull then people think...it has a bad rep becaue of the lame designers out there that use it enefficiently, not because the tool its selft....
anyway, that was my burp on flash...hehehe

cocolas - I agree that it's the designers fault (people us it in a wrong way)
J-bug - indeed that's a great example of how a flash site should be used, it works quick, it doesn't resize it's images, the text is not blurry, the navi is good, ...
One thing that I find also annoing is that the back button doesn't work in flash, you go back to the intro page in many cases, and really a lot of people use this button all the time.

Here is a link to a very creative Flash designer. Somewhere in his tutorial section there is a description of how to do this efficiently.

Just found the direct link.
