    would share the settings from 60's residential?

    what kinda color mapping did you use for the first interior?

        First of all - thanks for all the nice words - and yes the images are scaled down to 1/3 of their render size with heavy Photoshop post, giving some AA trouble.

        Second some answers:
        cocolas: These images were rendered over the last two or three months.

        Mattman: I have issues when it comes to asphalt! Never been able to make a material that could go for asphalt.

        niksoftarg: The glass in the windows. Since a VRay glass tends to go a bit dark, I use a black standard material with an opacity of 5. Then a Fallof map in the reflection slot with a VRay map with fresnel fallof. All trees are post... Nothing nifty

        themaxxer: color mapping for the two first interiors are dark:1,7
        and bright:0,9 with Exponential Color mapping, medium blue environment multiplier at 1,55 and an orange Sun with a multiplier of 3,0.
        60's residential:
        first difuse bounce: 1,0 sec. dif. bounce: 0,35
        direct comp.: 1 & 2
        Environment: light blue 1,0 Sun at 1,2 light orange
        Linear color mapping 1,0 & 1,0

        Theobarbosa: There is a VRay light (sphere) placed and sized like the bulb would be. Multiplier is until it looks right...

              No portal light. Normal invisible VRay lights in the window (same size as)to generate just a little more light.
              Interesting enough the quality of the GI solution changes dramatically when you put up a light like that. The overall imagecontrast gets much better as well as better GI with less samples.

              This image is made basically the same way:

              (no glass in windows - the client didn't wan't any reflections to block the view...hmmm.)

                what GI computation method did you use ?

                by saying "direct comp 1 & 2" do you mean direct computation for first diffuse and secondary bounces ?

                  This is because these vraylights cast area shadows, the look like GI shadows because they are so soft, but they are just raytraced shadows. This is a very good trick for lighting interiors, I think it's the only way to get good lighting without the need of very high IR settings.

                    Jaxel, very nice and demonstrative works, i 'm starting learning vray(i use normaly brazil) and i would like 2 know if you have used photon map in these pics, if yes, why?

                          Hi

                          Jaxel, what is your specific workflow. Do you import architect student’s Cad files and assign lighting, materials and environment reflection for their final representation?

                          And by the way, the last picture you post is nice, I like it, but something wrong with environment, outside its look cloudy day but inside its look typical summer day.

                            the sixties setting

                            I love your shodow septhss on that one. What light fo you use for sun. My shadows end up usually much lighter and so the image lacks contrast. Also, how do you get such nice reflextions in the windows (i experimented with enviroment and vray enviroment and never can get anything close to yours.

                            Great work and nice architecture as well.
