Very nice dude! Especially the water is great!

Background and palmtrees are weird imo, it doesn't fit with the rest.

yep, the water's great (can u share?), and i also agree with flipside (again) 'bout the palms and the veggies, they dont quite fit, and they are too simetrical, oh! and the roof tiles look very nice too!
      Best Regards.

the rooftiles are modeled (instanced) the water is a plane with a darktree bumpmap, the palm trees are the only rpc palm tree we have and the background...well, its much better than previous iterations....

i'll see what i can do about posting the settings for the water

              Hi,

The background isn't bad, but it's lighting and contrast are wrong compared to the rendering.

Not sure if this image is done yet or not but.....I'd try and add a bit more stucco to your stucco - right now, it's coming across as plaster, you can use a smoke material or noise on fractal. Also, try and soften the images your using as reflections. I usually make my windows darker and one have them reflect about 20%. You may even want to make some blinds to put behind them to get around having to model the rooms. As for the background image, that's a bit tricky. You may try and add a slight blur in Photoshop to it (very slight - like 1 or 2 pixels). Also try and bring just a bit of the color back. I realize you're trying to create some contrast as well as make it appear atmospheric, but I think is just a bit too strong.
The lighting is strong. - What about some chairs around the pool??

there is stucco...you cant really see it though except on the reaaaaaally big (5000px x 28soemthing) render

been thinking about chairs and such, and the windows, but dont really have the time to throw more in the model gotta push the renders

there is some blur on the mountain, its a tricky photograph to deal with

here's the other large shot (still have the animation to push)

palm trees are being replaced with ones from speedtree (as you'll see in the animation)

yes, the tile roof is modeled. each tile is a sliced tube...just instanced the number of times i need it...you can see it pretty well in the first image

here's the first part of the animation:

just checked out the animation, the lighting is good, but the water lacks movement, if you fix up the water it will be a fantastic piece of animation
