Here's one I did a month ago - a quickie. Nothing special really... Full of unsmoothed geometri and other little errors. Spent a lot of time trying to get a decent material on the acrylic screens - didn't quite pull it off, but it turned out ok, the client was happy!

Hello Anders!
Yeah, that's the first time that I can actually justify flares of this magnitude.
You taking a break from fR?

a quickie - why not - never say no to a quikie!
but how do you do this lensflares, are the postproduktoin or direktly in the rendering? did you use ies lights or how do you realise that the lights are realy visible with this energie in your spots?

No IES, just ordinary spots...
It's pure post. I render the white in the spot on a seperate pass to which I apply gaussian blur. This is the small halo. Duplicate and blur further if you need more power.
The lensflares are also PS. It's a pain in the .... to place them right. I think the layer should be blended as 'screen'
