I hope this is an easy one. I've been playing around with Vray for a bit and love it so far. The only thing I keep running into is whenever I have a curved surface, everywhere there is a verticle segment, it creates a small "lip." that casts a shadow. It looks like a small bump map running vertically. I've tried adjusting all types of settings but can't seem to get the one that will erase these lines. I couldn't find any mention of it anywhere. Anyone??

Try the 'smooth surface shadow' under VRay shadow parameters...

It was already on. I'm using a spot light for the sun and the rest is GI. I'm trying to up the bias on the shadow and it seems to be lessening it a bit.
Any other suggestions? i never see that artifact in any other images posted here.

try using a target direct light instead of a spot. I agree with the smooth surface shadow setting though.

Do you use area shadow for the spotlight?

Did you try with smooth surface shadow turned off already? I also had this problem long time ago and actually never really solved it. here's a link to that thread: http://www.chaoticdimension.com/foru...741&highlight=
