  • Omega Watches new world campaign

    Hi guys,
i just wanted to share with you our latest work, completely rendered with vray.
It's a (very) short movie for the Omega's new world campaign, and everything will start from here, from printing to boutiques, etc etc.
It's been a massive project for us, doing a full cg, full hd, stereoscopic movie with tons of anisotropic glossy reflections.
I have to say that vray has been just great, i couldn't imagine a better engine to work with, no problem at all.

Official tv ad (unfortunately not a great compression)

    Stereoscopic version

    Vimeo compression

Credits are in the second and third link.
    Hope you like it,
    Cheers,

That's really beautiful, from concept to execution. Really nicely animated, timed and rendered. The reveal / product shot at the end is perfect.

Beautiful spot, I'm terrified to know what the render times were like with all those glossy reflections...

Amazing production. I like how whimsical the theme is. First time around I got completely distracted by the flow of it and forgot I was watching with one eye toward judging the CG, which can only be a good thing

I love the seamless camera, has such a nice flow to it. Did it give you much trouble with changes and timing adjustments?
It's a great piece of work

Thanks a lot guys, very kind words. We put a lof of effort in this project.
                          Answering some questions:
                          - The score was created by Harry Gregson-Williams, the theme is named "Smiling" and was originally composed for the movie "Man on fire".
                          - Luckily for us we have two great in-house directors, and one of them is also a badass 3d technical director so we didn't have too many problems on the camera/composition side.
                          - I also have to say that this project basically didn't have the typical commercial pipeline (client -> creatives & co -> production -> post production) that usually puts several degrees of pain in the approval process. We did everything (including original idea, starting concept, storyboards, and so on) and spoke directly to the client that has been one of the best i've ever worked with. I think this eliminates a lot of picky comments that at the end may change the original nature of an idea.
                          - I think at some point we will do a making of as we did in the past for other stuff, maybe not so soon cause we are still doing several other things. At this link on behance there are some images.
                          Thanks again,

                          fede
