  • Interior animation - WIP

    Hey,

Here's a little animation I'm fiddling with. Sorry, it's a bit small, but that's the format the client's getting...

    Tell me what you think.

4.8 mb. (Yeah, I know, Divx...)

Thanks Natty! I think it's around 1-2 minutes per frame...

I dig the background of the exterior part. Do you mind sharing how you achieved this?

Ditto on the 1-2 minutes per frame...wow...using a saved IR map? Even so that's pretty fast!
              Very nice though - congrats.

Wow, thanks for your comments! Yeah, rendertimes are based on a saved irrmap on a single computer, dual 2.4mhz. Well, it is only 320x240...

                  Corey: Regarding the camera match:

                  1. Rent a crane and place it at the exact location of the apartment to be.
                  2. Take a full panorama, and stitch the pictures to form a cylindrical map.
                  3. Place a cylinder around your model, flip normals, and move the horizon so it reaches the horizon of your MAX-camera.
                  4. place the map in the reflection environment tab, and adjust output until glass looks good.
                  5. Render model and background seperately, and combine in PS.
                  6. If needed, replace sky with better one, and coloradjust so it matches the render.
You can find some hires in another thread of mine.

TonyM: No troubles really - made good use of the excellent irrmap viewer to merge maps. Otherwise my only problem was, as allways, that you can't exclude objects from skylight (glass + background)...

The sun is very orange and a multiplier of 3.4.
                  Cheers,

                  /Thomas

Sure, we do that on almost every project that's within range.
                            Cheers,

Fabulous work Thomas. The only thing that's not so nice is some vertical lines flickering a bit. what are your AA settings for animations?

                              Thanks,
