  • Exterior from Alex Konst

Here is my exterior working. HSV exponential. The main thing - the ground, the pool, the car and some plants are inside the scene - not post process. I only used Photoshop for background.

It seem to me that it looks too plastic-like... Maybe it's the powerful colors you have chosen. You need to 'dirty' up the images, I think.

So, You haven't decided where to build the house?

PLEASE get some interest in architecture and try to understand what it's about. The design, the colors, the 'style' have to be corrected before bringing them to live with renders - you wouldn't really want to live in that, would you ?!

Very constructive, casewolf. It's not for you to judge whether it's good architecture or not. This forum is about a renderer, not taste in architecture.

You don't even know if it's a job, and if it is, what do you want him to do? Tell the client that it sucks?
        Cheers,

I think you should choose one style for your image, now you mix photoreal background with more cartoonstylish materials.

Your lighting is pretty much ok, now try to improve the model and textures. Also the car looks too reflective imo.

Good start, is it a job or is it personal work or tests?

          regards,

                @TJE:

I didn't mean to offend anybody. What I mean is that some principles of architecture as lighting, colour selection and image composition should as well be learned (and I'm still learning as well - maybe lifelong) to achieve sympathic renders. You can't really divide it up - it's connected together.
Sorry for the post, I was sort of overwhelmed

So my *constructive* comment to this post would be: I'd desaturate some of the freaking colours and try to harmonize them. The house, ok, no comment. The XJ220 is sort of ehh, lets say a bit too much maybe , and maybe some arrangement in the foreground around the pool would be pleasant (more plants, objects, a channging ground, whatever).

hello bud, i think you are using too much elements, this let the image confuse, try to simplify it and works more on textures. I like a lot your peoples in the scene, where are they from? pictures you took or are from some library?

Interesting image. I dont mind the look of the house per se. Ive seen some very strange looking houses in real life, so its not too big of a stretch. The problem for me is the incongruity of the scale. The red flowers are enormous, the girl leaning on the wall is either too big or the house is too small. Theres several other instances in the picture that illustrate that. It just serves to really confuse the person looking at the image.

If your using max units when you model, then you need to switch over to real world measurements. Even if you dont have a blueprint your working from, or alot of experience to know how high door frames are and such (like myself ) then it at least gives you something to keep you in check.

Keep it up. I think the lighting is pretty good, and I like the different backgrounds.

I would check the scale of your objects. For example, if I measure the woman standing and place her in front of the door, she has to bend her neck to get in...

Ill try and put some input into this.

The scale on the bricks on the house are still far to large and there is no variation in the coloring of it.

The comments of the flowers have been made, also you dont have them reflecting in the car.

The people in the front work perfectly, but the woman against the wall doesnt have a shadow on her chest.

The colors are still far to saturated and besides the brick they lack texture. The tiles on the roof are also very flat and at this angle doesnt look like there is a gutter installed.

The one thing that really catches my eye though is the railing next to the dog. There apears to be a garage there? This would be a VERY small garage due to a couple factors, one being the fire place and the large brick above the garage. Mechanically that would be a very weak structure if there wasnt anything under it. Also, the slope of the garage wouldn't allow that car to park with out it bottoming out.

One thing that strikes me and i mean no disrespect, that car next to that house looks tacky, one model is superbly done, while another one is suffering because of texturing problems. They just dont match each other in style as well, the car looks to be more expensive then the house,

Overal, tone it down a little bit and keep scale in mind. The render is fine, you just need to adjust the small things that give the house it characteristist

                          My 2 cents.

                            Hey Alkonst,

How come there is such a huge difference in the quality of your interior and exterior work? You interiors look really stunning, and your exterior here needs lot of work. With the quality you achieve in your interiors you must be able to make fabulous exteriors too!?

                            Regards,
