Do you have to stick with accuracy? You can always present options before you render with the sun in any position you want, letting them know that it's not realistic. Or even just shift it slightly off to one side - 10-15 degrees or so, and nobody would notice. You're in the business of making good images, bend the facts.

this is the architect who asks why colors are darker on the shaded side of the house. Once I am done updating the front (lifting the sun up), I'll work on the back, for my own benefit.Bobby Parker

or maybe not! I looked at them side by side, and I like the first one better. But, I do like the drive way better in the updated one.Bobby Parker

The colors of the building and the sky are a beautiful combination!
If there's one thing I would crit it would be one of your "signature" things, the windows -they look dark and uninviting. I realize they don't pay you for modeling interiors, but just throw a wall or two and some generic furniture in there, make the windows reflect less and refract more. Also maybe you have too much dead space on the foreground. Other than that I love that image, the building entrance especially.Ville Kiuru

Maybe you have looked at this already but when I do an exterior that has lots of shadows that make it seem heavy I will take a shadow pass and use it as a mask to lighten the shadows and provide them with a touch of blue cast to warm them up.

I do this a little in PS, adjusting the mid-tones, and added a shadow color correction. I'll try a render element next time.Bobby Parker
