  • Project - Learning Marvelous Designer

    Hello!

This is my first post here.

I recently finished some renderings while trying to learn Marvelous Designer, and I was quite satisfied with the result.

C&c are welcome, I´m trying to improve

    Regards,

    Daniel

Good job. I mucked around with MD (version 2 I think) until the trial period expired. Very powerful and reasonably easy-to-use software. My results were pretty good (for me!) but not in the same league as these images.
      Kind Regards,

Someday soon, I'll have to give this a go. One thing I think of when I see scenes like this is, wouldn't they have straightened up before they took the photo? Anyway, they look awesome!

I used the open beta for version 3 when I made the models, and yes indeed a nice and powerful software! Thank you!

I found the software to be kind of addictive hah..I don´t know, somehow I just wanted to create more and more stuff with it! Thank you very much!

I like the attention to detail with the tags etc.
Can't really provide any crits (technical or creative). As an outcome from a learning exercise I would say you have nailed it.

They look really good and with nice materials applied too!

How did you approach the structure of the cushions in Marvelous Designer?
Do they have an inner pillow within a separate outer casing or is it an outer casing alone with some pressure applied? I've tried both and think I maybe kid myself into thinking the more physically correct versions are better but I'm not sure!

I've been trying to learn MD for a few months now and am always really impressed (or at least entertained) with the results compared to struggling with the 3ds max cloth modifier.

Thank you! Yes, I find Marvelous much more intuitive and fun compared to Mass FX or Cloth in 3Ds max I tried both methods but found using the second one, with only outer casing, the easiest. However I will try the first method more, since that should be more correct, at least in my head haha..

                    Very cool

Does the textures/mapping come from MD automatically to 3dsmax or you have to do it all over ?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Thanks! The UVW mapping was done in MD, I think it worked very well

Thank you, and nice to hear that I´m not the only one who is addicted! haha
