I'd like to apologize on behalf of all Australians for that horrendous excuse for architecture.
The composition is so cramped, I know noone likes modeling context but maybe we can get a bit more sky and foreground? Perhaps a square format image? Perhaps a wider angle lens will let the angles of the building speak up a bit more and a nicer day (bluer sky) might also help deflect one's attention away for the very drab materials and allow the materials to show a bit more of their inherent qualities (glossiness and reflectivity). At the moment you've got a flat perspective, flat materials, and flat lighting. It's really working against you.
ditch the car and the no parking sign, they're really distracting. Any chance the trees can be a bit more mature? Maybe scatter some leaves around the scene in the gutters and on the grass if time permits.
mmmm if time permits, maybe we could see thru the windows a little more. At the moment the grey glass is really defensive and only adds to the ominous nature of the materials and geometry. The dirt effect on the lighter material is way too strong and I can't image the client will like it (if they notice it).
Bobby, if you can make this one shine you should be pretty happy with your effort.

the trees where on the plan. I chose trees that were not dense with leaves, but will look into eucalyptus'sOriginally posted by chriserskine View Postare those tree's in a planting plan? or have you just put them in?
I'd use a eucalyptus of some kind. the ones you have in there aren't native. and doesn't really say australia
I'd also add some variation to the grass.Bobby Parker

Yyes. I have a long list of things to work on, because currently, the image is awful! I did get feedback from the architect
"sweet, looks good. I need a second one kind off getting the Gooch St side."
I guess if it was just money, I would stop there, but I guess it's little about the money.Bobby Parker

Sadly, the person who is buying or "designing" this type of dwelling won't have much going on creatively and probably won't care about the extra detail that you want to put into the render.

Bobby, I would remove the "dirt" or water streaks that is on the facade unless you have been asked to render an old existing building?

i think the coldness of the image is not what australian architecture is all about. It is best to google street view the part of australian that you would like to reflect on your project. At least it gives you more artistic direction to the feel of either the garden and the surrounding context.

Good to see you got the car on the "right" side of the road glorybound! I like the first composition a lot better - but maybe if you gave it a little more room to breath and lost the green colour cast. The second view you chose is dominated by the signpost and the house gets lost.Last edited by snivlem; 20-08-2013, 08:43 PM.Maya 2020/2022

Yeah the signpost is distracting. In my opinion your original landscape orientation was better than this new composition, although you should zoom out a bit. Those concrete slabs on the foreground, where is that texture from? looks good in a kind of a worn out way.
I like that you've lost that red tint and excess AO that I feel most of the time dominate your pics!Ville Kiuru
