  • My first posting here

    Hi guys,

This is my first posting out here... but kick me with tips and critix...
I have this scene with an american store at the window...

I have difficulty with the material and lighting... I get splotches.
Could this be because I have the subdivs of the refraction slot set at 2?
Or should I use translucent (don't know how).

    The material settings are attached.

    The lighting is :

    IR: High presets,
2 Vray lights (sphere with skylight portal on, subdivs 10). One at that window and one at the back.

Also How do I get the walls more brighter.

I saw a technique in this forum of a set of lights (vray) with different light multipliers from outside the wall, entering the interior.

    Tips are very much appreciated...

    Thx in advance

    Nicolaas

    Thx guys

    IES

    Hi,

I just did a version with IES lights...

I cranked up my hemisphere subdivs to 100 instead of the standard 50.

And high presets... but I still get a lot of artifacts...

Could somebody help me to improve this image .. thx appreciated.

        Hi again,

        Doing some self education here..

I boosted up the HSV exponential dark multiplier to 3,5.
        First bounce 1
        Second 0,7
        Second depth 10
        Hsph subs 50
        Interpolation 50
        IR preset HIGH

I got it from natty's tutorial VID !! thx natty

What setting didn't got any influence here ?

So applying a vray material to the wall would make faster rendertimes..
                Didn't knew that

                Ok gonna check it

I did 2 scenes... daylight (IR=low presets) and daylight with IES spots on (High presets, woosh IR map took ages (maybe 2-3hrz on my dual xeon Probably because of the IES).. Rendering was 17 minutes Could time be increased ?

                  ok shoot

Please some help here is appreciated.

                    Come on.. fire me ..
Maybe some more glossiness on the glass of the fire... or less subdivs..

strangely there's complete lack of shadows

are you sure you turned the default lights option off ?
when you use only use daylight you have to do that

and that black thing is horrible
at least add some fresnel reflections if you're keen to keep it

but there's great progress in your work

                          Okay...

                          Stellar:
                          I turned off default lights.
I have plane vray lights... when I use daylight.

The black thing is a palmvase, it's the trunk of a palmtree. I'll try the fresnel reflections.
It's the palmtree or a Bang & Olufsen plasma...

Looks like there's a raytraced material somewhere in the scene. Convert it to Vray mat and I think the carnaval will disappear.
