    hi,

I'm a new user of Vray and this is my first project.
I'll add more objects later. Here is the project.

    c and c are welcome

I'm using a sun lamp : energy 0.1 in blender and intensity 0.3 in vray plugin
this is the setting for a final render.
I tried to light with an HDR image but I have not yet succeeded

    Re: loft

One of the most simplest ways is to use "Sun + Sky + physical camera + portals in windows":
    1. Create Sun lamp, change its type to "Sun" in object panel of the script. Leave of intensity settings by default.
    2. Set Background type (CM / ENV) to VRaySky.
    3. Set Color-mapping type to Reinhard (I prefer to use Burn 0.0-0.2 and increase contrast in post).
    4. Set Camera type to Physical, leave all settings by default.
    5. Create Area lights outside (or inside) all windows and set their type to "Simple portal" in object panel of the script.
    6. Render.
    7. Tweak ISO of physical camera to increase/decrease lighting of the scene.
    8. Render final image =)

You can also share your scene and we will help you.

      Re: loft

I used your method of lighting.
the scene is more enlightened, but skylight portal seam to remove the sun beam.
VRaySky produces blue light that I find quite annoying, is this normal ?
Perhaps I have to try a hdri map.

        Re: loft

The blue of the sky is normal. You could set a white colour though (not as a sky but as a colour) or diminish the sky's intensity or use an HDRI

Please, check your settings. Do you change sun lamp type from "Direct" to "Sun"?
Portals are always invisible and doesn't block light rays.

You should tweak sun-sky settings (turbidity, ozon, etc). Select Sun and go to Object panel of the script.

            Re: loft

I found the solution. I had more than 5 lamps ... and I use the demo version.
            sorry for the inconvenience.

              Re: loft

I'd really love to see exterior/interior VRay setups in Blender. I would like to jump into it but it looks like total magic after Yafaray.
