    thanks for the ramble!
    it's made things much clearer without me having to trawl through pages of technical stuff that i'd probably have a hard time understanding.

    might be worth submitting to vray.info.

    thanks for your help.

      s0real, WONDERFUL image and i dont really have any crits thats havnt already been said. Lovely render. Stunning.
      Escher, very interesting post, thank you for that insight. I'm just curious, i can understand using mc-escher as a nickname as a fan, but why do you sign as escher as well? Kind of odd isnt it? I'm not attacking you at all, just seems weird to me.

      Regards,

        Hi,

        [mc]escher is my quake name since 96. It has become pretty much
        interchangeable with my regular name after all this time.

            No, no RErender, i meant it was odd cuz he's not Escher, thats what i meant. It's like me calling myself P.Picasso and signing off as Pablo. Just seems odd to use a great artist's name as your own. But like i said, im not having a go, just typing out a thought.
            Have a good weekend y'all

              Hey s0real,

              Nice images... is it possible to see the material settings for the cap in the first image??

                Hello,

                Could you explain us how you render the liquid that seems to fill the glass (like in reality). I never reach this effect in vray

                thank in advance

                  ___Leo___

                  the lid material is pretty simple.
                  it's actually made of 2 materials...

                  smooth bits are;
                  vraymat
                  reflect 60 grey
                  glossy 0.85
                  noise bump with a value of 2

                  rough bits;
                  vraymat
                  reflect 60 grey
                  glossy 0.5
                  small noise bump with a value of 60

                  the grooves in the lid are modelled.

                  3dben

                  to get the liquid to look as if it's really filling the bottle, i removed the faces of the glass where it touched the liquid inside the bottle.

                  there's a thread explaining why and how here;

                  http://www.chaoticdimension.com/foru...t=glass+liquid

                  hope this helps.

                    Cool!

                    Can you post a wirefame. The two object (glass and wine) are touched ?

                    Thanks!

                      sorry cecofuli, i don't have time at the moment to find the model and render a wire...

                      if you take a look at the thread linked in my reply further up the page, it explains the same technique i used here.

                      it's really a very simple model though..

                        Ohhh... Thank...

                        Thanks, the time is not never sufficient

                        But a question: you have used this technique?

                        See this file (OT Thanks Arrival)

                        http://www.evermotion.org/index.php?...2&embeding=yes

                        And, i have read all post in this forum, but i I have not still understood modeling a wine glass correctly. In the still image, the profile of glass and the wine, they must be overlapped or not (similar in the arrival file)? And this tecnique

                        is corret?

                        sorry for my english, i use this for speacjk with you
