  • Interior - Furniture Showcase

    Hey there guys!

I did not posted for a long time here, so it is a good time to do so.
Here is something i've did for the last 4 months, I'm not entirely sure if I'm allowed to do it but I will give it a try.
If its not permitted to advertise yourself than please remove my thread.

So basically I wanted to open a on-line furniture store.
I've prepared a animation that should mimic the furniture commercials in television :
    https://vimeo.com/80147409

    and some snapshots :

Than I've prepared a showcase room to show some of the best furniture pieces I've done for the store.
I've used Vray, Vray Multiscatter and photoshop with magic bullet.
The store should open tomorrow, I will try to fill it with models throughout the next week. (its more than 100 models).
Please let me know what you think the animation and the renders below.

    Best Regards
    Lucas

that stitching is wonderful z-brush, I assume? (if it wasnt, i'd love to know how you approached it)

The chair and stitching look great!

The room however, seems very 'cg'. I can't quite put my finger on a reason why.. Is everything ok with shadows? A lot of objects seem to have that 'floating' look.

Thank you guys! No its not zbrush, standard max tools were used.

viscorbel : hmm I dont know, from my point of view it doesnt float... hmm, I will try to make sunny version of it ... maybe it helps.

The furniture and area rug look excellent...and where is that black leather office chair in the store?
              Nice lighting, too.

I would love if you could give a basic rundown... My stitching method is spacing tool / modeled sitches, but they just sit on the surface - yours actually seem to pull the holes in a little and i've never been able to figure out an easy way to do that.

Yeah that stitching is great - Cubicle, I saw something recently (can't remember which thread), where it suggested using a distance tex or dirt map to control a bump or displacement around the base of the stitching to get the indentations.....not tried it but sounded plausible

I could see that if you had a small sphere at the indent of the thread before you instanced the stitching around, using them in the distance texture to control the bump/displacement amount. I will have to give that a try later. Thanks for the idea! I must have missed that particular thread.
