  • question about shadows

hi I am very new to vray. I was making test renders for lighting studies.
I used a direct light with vray shadows in my scene.
when I turn on the area shodows option under vray shadows, the place of the shadows change.
can anyone explain me why this is happening?

      known thing.

just move the light far away from its target, then the difference is not noticable anymore.

its not a bug. by default a direct light by its very nature is direct. so it wont have area shadows. so when you turn on area shadows it kinda makes your direct into a spot.like they said. moving it far back will help. heck. might as well as just use a spot to start with hehe

Also try to reduce the dimension of the Area factor (dimensions)....
