Maybe it's the architecture, or I need to change the composition, but I am not very excited about this one.

I agree, have you played with windows and sky? Especially the windows dulls the image imho.

            the sky looks very desaturated
maybe add little bit cyan, and double that amount of blue

something looks wrong with the bus moblur at the top of the bus

            here's a quick color balance:

maybe add somebody on the left in the open space walking towards the building?

For the night scene, I think the problem is that it doesnt look like any lights are on inside. Even if you could just blow out the windows a bit it would look better, then tone down the sky a notch, maybe 10 to 15 percent darker

yes, that looks good. I didn't want the viewer to enter the scene on the left, so I left it blank, and positioned that first car so the viewer inters there and goes to the right. But, maybe it didn't work.

Try rotating the HDR for more interesting light/window reflections.

the guy looks a bit green, but integrates well (just colour correct him)

What does it look like if he is more left, like between the lamp post and the end of the wall on the far left (in the open space)? But thats just being picky now. Anybody else care to comment on the guy on the left?
                    Kind Regards,
