    My Latest...

Could you please let me know how to get the floor surface material to be like the below images? I like the reflection and the white color..but cant seem to get it to work well....

Here is the difference: In my image the floor blends to black as it goes to the horizon....but in the below image it stays white... reflections are awesome but it doesnt work in mine... I know in Scanline Render all I need to do is click reflection>flat mirror... but in Vray I couldnt get it to work....

    Thanx in advance...

one of the things ive found with glass objects like that is that turning up your bounces on refractions especially helps take some of that black out.

also add some more white cards to the scene might help too

        Hey Da_elf

Would I still need to add white cards if I already have the background set in white color???

ahh great stuff leo!! ok here goes..
            - the color of the perfume, maybe shifting towards more yellow/green like in the reference pic?
            - the bottle has very thick walls...if you slim it, the liquid will be more pronounced, its a matter of choice alone.
            - the cap, texture is very bland, some plasticky gloss there?
            - floor is gettin burned out, so reflection is not clear.

this is a great effort, you can still improve it!! dont give up!
            cheers

Could anyone help me on this black cap....
Take a look at the below settings for the black cap..
I need it to be more shiny than it is ..
at least I need to make it look like plastic..
and I cant seem to figure out what Im doing wrong...

              Thanx in advance...

                  Thanx Natty ...

I kindda figured out what the problem was... the cap has very sharp edges .. I guess thats what the problem was.... (IMO still is a problem ... but it may be ok )

I also tried some caustic effect.... and this is what I finaly came up with... I would appreciate any critix...

                  Hope you like it...

fade the caustics and add the reflections again ... it doesn't look like a product photography now!

                        Hey guys...

                        Thanx for the comments....

nvanherpt: should I accept that as a compliment???

Dschaga: I totaly agree with you... I also came up with a solution of getting rid of the shadow... I dont exactly know why .. but in the real images the pictures never have any shadows.... maybe because of white cards??? I realy dont know... anyways this is the last image..

                        Hope you like it...

                          Hello Leo,

                          Great rendering.
But something is wrong in your picture, if your look at the border of the liquid your will see in the photo that the liquid seems to fill the glass.

There are somm threads about it :

                            Hi Leo,
When a photographer takes photos like these he uses something called a light tent. This is a translucent cloth box which the object can be contained in. There is a hole for the camera lens and lights are positioned around the box to flood it with soft light (check out B&H photo for an example). I created something like this with a chamfered box (normals flipped) and a light emitting Standard material. To simulate the exterior lights shining in I used a circular gradient map with an output in the center color swatch. It worked well and I got results almost identical to these photos. There would be a problem with achieving true caustics in my setup but If you look at the photos there really aren't any due to how soft the lighting is. I could dig up the file if you like. How is you scene currently set up?

ok, i have grabbed your image and changed it in photoshop a little bit:
copied the layer, blurred it a bit, change the mode of the blurred copy to soft light and added a curve layer to change the contrast a bit. ..then i painted the floor to have very lightweight reflections.
