    A quick 3 days job. I have to say i wanted to use vraylenseffect but is not working for me atm. And a buggy vrayclipper gave me weird results so i paint a solid color on them, i wrote a wish on the seccion to maybe get an improved version,max2011x64 Vray3+PS
    Im using grant`s technique but on a simplify version because it take so long to render(just one vraymat), AA 1-50; LWF; IRRA(DE)+LC; embree ON; mat sub 150; light sub divs 150; max ray int 20.

    If i put everthing by default and do the following...
    a. uncheck divide shading subs sky its not the limit its way above!
    b. use probabilistic lights 8, again skyrocket times.

    I have 5 pcs I7 second gen and the render times where 20min each aprox.
    What do you guys think?

        Do you think you can get me the file for that scene so that we can play with it and see if we can make it go faster? I'm particularly interested in some of the new stuff for the probabilistic lights that we've been doing.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

          Hi Vlado,
          Yes im really interest so see if i can reduce times, because right now im working on another much more complex furniture store with a lot of proxys, ies but with the same aproach as this store, and i getting without probabilistic 8 min and with it 14 min. Im packing and uploading it. Is vlado@chaosgroup.com the mail should i be send it to?

          Thanks

            Yes, vlado@chaosgroup.com is fine. What machine are you rendering on?

            Best regards,

                Hello

                I'm not very skilled when it comes to settings tweaking, but your settings look weird to me ...
                We're working on the last details of a project that is more complex (about 100m2 shop interior, many objects, reflections everywhere, area lights everywhere ...), using a less powerful hardware, and the rendertime / quality ratio seems better to me : for information, we use Adaptive AA 1-10, IM+LC (no DE), Embree OFF, mat subdivs 80, lights subdivs 80, no max ray intensity. We get some grain in lighting RE, but that's not really noticeable Maybe is it worth trying such settings on your scene ?

                What's do you guys think about such settings ?

                Regards.

                  Hi Nicolas, im going to try to optimize my scene as you said and see what happens. I'm on a deadline too from another similar project as yours so i could help me. Thanks for dropping by

                    Thanks, I got it. Yes, currently the probabilistic lights don't work too well for this case, but it's a good test to see if we can improve it

                    Best regards,
                    Vlado

                      @Vlado
                      Great news, because for what i do its a daily job routine to have a speed up on several lights.

                      @NicoC
                      It didn't worked for me what you suggested, i attached a comparison and i think what i was doing could be improve it to lower render times
