Bit more work on the reflectivity / spec of the chair and the wood panelling for me, it'd be nice to try something fancy with distance tex to get the carpet to tuck in at the edges too. Exposure looks good!

I played around with the wood, but I was matching some photo references and I wasn't seeing much reflection. it is a little flat, so when I receive feedback from the Architect, I'll address these other things.

I put some blur reflections on the wood and I added glass to the pictures, to give the image more interest and depth, but of course, my render times have gone way up. I'll post an update later today, or first thing tomorrow morning.

How about the carpet? You can see the seam on your texture.... And a little bit displacement would be good specially when you see the carpet touching the raiser of the step.
          show me the money!!

I'm in the same boat as Joconnel. Some objects appear dull and fake. Other than that I think it looks good.

*just noticed your post regarding updated reflections, so you can savely ignore my critique*
              Cheers,
              Oliver

I added some falloff to things, which helped things pop! The architect has some tweaks, so I'll post an update later today or tomorrow morning.

I had the trace reflection off, which is credited to the fast render time. The scene, at 4k, rendered in 15 minutes. I turned it back on and the scene now looks alive again, but the prepass is taking forever (prepass 2 of 6... [00:11:39.8][03.58.12 est]. From experience, this is way high and it'll go a lot faster, but still slow as heck!

pre calculate your irradiance map with reflections turned off, then turn them back on for the final render.
Also make sure glossy effects are switched off for your IR map pas too. (i've been wishing for a checkbox to do both of these automatically for years, cant remember the last time I did a final render in one go)

Glossy Effects, in the Global Settings off for pre-calc and back on for final?

yeah, always. no reason you'd ever want to do an IRmap with it on and it's so much slower.

Okay... try no.2 The wood is supposed to have a blurry reflection, but it still is probably too weak; I'll work in it.

                            1. turn off "reflection" and "glossies" from global
                            2. render "single frame" and "save" irr map
                            3. turn on "reflection" and "glossies" from global
                            4. pick "from file" for the irr map
                            5. render again

                            Is this correct?

I typically do a blend for woods with blurry reflection.
