    vray free for a little gi.
    had problems rendering the hair with vray free so it´s composit.
    does vray free not work with shag?

      i think vray free should work with shag, the demo works fine.

        Hehhe, the hair looks great very soft. Shag does not work with advanced either, unless you convert it to geometry, then it will work with free too. There have been hints that shag will work together with vray displacement in the future.

          , , Freshhh One, 'like that Hair!

          Cool Modelling too, 'kinda like the Eyes in the first Picture. Maybe you should add some irregularities ro make him look better in the Secon picture. You could give this Character really a personality and a Style. Start with your Environment, Make it Black as long you modell but add some well placed Lights. Try with a Mainlight, a fill, and a Rimlight from Behind so you can Bring those essential Shapes out sculpted. Of course you can take a cool HDRImage too. Put it in the GI- and Reflection Override Slot. Then make a new Skin Material. In Vray Advanced you can Setup a material like mixed glossy reflections you defined in a map with a normal fallof reflection map you created. But as you own VrayFree @ the moment you have to go for a more old school technique. Just Paint good Standart Maps with Speculars and Fallofs - here is a nice Tutorial on that. (Stahlberg Shading).

          I dont know what you want to do with this Character but i would suggest to make him really cool - try some cool Stuff with the Hair - sculp him some hair style or something. Then Form his mouth and Nose a little more - i already like the Eyes. What so you want to do? Do you continue on his Body or dou you animate him? Really wanna know.
          I'll post some character stuff soon.

            it was only a modelling exercise, im not going to make him a boody in the next future. im doing this only for fun and have not much time.

            ps: maybe you have a good link for a good character light setup?
