  • Skin Shader Test

The skin shader was one of the first things I wanted to try out with the Modo VRay beta, so I dusted off an older sculpt and updated it to kick the tires on the renderer, so to speak.

Very nice How did you do the hair?

Thanks, glad you like it! The hair was done with Fibermesh in ZBrush, then exported to Modo as curves. I flagged the imported curves as 'Render Curves' and set a gradient to alter the profile along their length. I generally don't like to use procedurally generated hair as I have to give up too much control when styling.

Great work with the plugin so far! The integration with Modo is pretty seamless, though there are some issues with lazy updates in the RT window that I'm sure will get fixed in time. It's really not much different than working with Modo's internal renderer, which I find pretty amazing.
