    Hello hello!

Here's a project I worked on over the last two weeks. Two images, two weeks from beginning to end. I was hoping the client would go for a different exterior that I liked a lot more but hey, you can't win them all.

It's an office building that sits adjacent to Occidental Square in Seattle. I realized a few days into the project that I've actually walked through that square which was cool and that 1st hand experience (no matter how faded the memory is) helps get into the mood of the project. Seattle is such a rich place so it was super fun to come up with ideas to localize the images a bit more. The Yarn bombing for example is a well known thing at that location and in the crop you can see Phoenix Jones who is a Seattle-based crime fighter (for real). Some of the other sketches revolved around farmers' markets in the square or food trucks and some sports-related ideas as Seattle are Football crazy. Maybe it was better the image wasn't a sports themed one as they just lost the superbowl...

Probably the most enjoyable project I've worked on for a while as the client was incredibly relaxed and I'm pretty happy with the finals. There are of course the odd few things I would have changed but C&C is very welcome.

I've included a scaled down version of each and a 100% crop of each. The finals were 5000px along the longest edge.

your placement of people reminds me of a story told by two guys who did hand illustrating back in the day when there was no computer generated images. They worked in pencil, water color and paint. One guy finished his Architectural rendering and left the room to hit the men's room. While he was gone, the other guy quickly drew in a guy peeing in the bushes in a corner of the rendering... and then he left. The first guy didn't catch the "joke" and sent the rendering off to the client. Ultimately there was a mad panic as they tried to get the painting back before it went to presentation. Humor. Gotta love it.
