Great image. I'm really curious on how you made the carpet§

My guess is vray fur with custom direction map. Would you care sharing the direction map and/or settings ? (even watermarked lowres version, just to give an idea)

It's actually the Hair and Fur Modifier and I just tweaked the standard setting until it look about right.
