I pulled the camera back and added some inside light. I am getting some banding on the sky, upper right, so I'll address that.

i preferred the crop.. more interesting. if youre gonna stick with this view, the right hand streetlamp pokes annoyingly into the top corner there.. really drew my eye away from the building.

        also, streetlamps are not spotlights

I hope you don't mind, I had some time this morning and did a little paint over in Photoshop with your latest - some of my adjustments could probably have been more subtle.

Except for the crop preference I'm in the same boat as super gnu. Maybe you could use a little more sky though.

The deck. It looks a little congested, so I might remove some things.

Im on the fence about it looking cluttered but all in all I really like it! And that brushed stainless mat on the BBQ is pretty sweet as well. A lot of the new machinery here uses a lot of machined, polished and or brushed stainless and its been a real challenge coming up with a convincing material.

hey thats very nice Bobby. it does look a little crowded though. barbecue looks great, but maybe is a bit too dominant.

one thing id like to see is the background knocked back a bit. its a bit too disco for me.. you could maybe keep the brightest bits bright, but maybe lose some of the midrange city lighting? that would also make the foreground more punchy.

The architect spent a ton of money of some photos, this being one of them. I did blur the foreground a little, but maybe it needs a little more.

hmm no id say less blur...! its the fact that all the bright lights are blending together to create a wall of light there that is bugging me.

I'll work on that background. I just got a call from the architect, who just got the proof. His first words were, "this is bad ass!" and then he said, "you nailed it!". He did need a black person in the scene, so I'll have to see if I can find a good black person.

Why not just use a model of well textured grass, with forest pro? best of both worlds. it's the forest preset models that aren't good - you can replace them with something from evermotion or icube, or make a blade of grass yourself easily enough.
