what kind of wood are you using? the grain seems too obvious. is the uvw map applied?

it's a mahogany with stronger surface grain. Yes, mapped.

i think its a little bit to much..the grain should be smaller...best way to overcome this is to refer to an image of a furniture made with mahogany..then youll have a better idea how the size should be..

i dont believe ive ever seen mahogony that light before. ive got tonnes of mahogony furniture since its very common placed here in the caribbean and they are all alot darker than that.

Probably you are right about the mahogany from caribbean, but here we use a more lighter version also. I did a search:

i guess it all depends on the richness of the stain you use on the wood to varnish it.

Yes exactly, and also depends how the room is lighten up, but this is obvious of course.
I did changed the texture and looks better now.

In the first picture.. the glass on left cabinets needs less reflection...

Maybe you can play with the carpets too .. maybe a higher resolution bitmap.. or you could even try tiling...

Hi guys! I started to like this forum better and better than others.
I will made the changing soon and post the image. Now i started another project.
About the glass> I dont understand why is reflecting so much, it is the same material as on the other cabinet. Any ideeas?

While everything is nice, I only have one suggestion to make,

About the books, I think if you try to make more variations in thickness, color and size, that would give a better realism.

And by the way, how many VRay lights you're using (Decayed or not)?

My only comment is - how could the sun be coming through the windows with such a clean sharp definition on the floor when you have curtians on the windows? The curtains would diffuse the light spread.
