  • Something a bit off the beaten path....

    Got to try my hand at something a bit different on my latest project. Figured I'd share what I came up with. Had a blast doing it.

        Agree about the flag, early versions had bump and more detail. Client really wanted it simplified. Maybe I could paint some more folds in...

                Looks great mate!

                Just out of curiosity, you rendered it as a pano "little planet" or you modeled a sphere and rendered with a wide angle lens like 25mm.
                Just to know how you managed to make the water scaling if you did render it as a sphere, and not as a pano.

                  Hello!

                  For a sphere those reflections would be sort of impossible since the light source is behind the planet. Instead what I did was render a pano and then warp it into a sphere shape, so it 'looks' spherical but it really isn't. Then I warped all the elements as well so I could paint over the reflection pass with a bit of color to match the background on the bottom right.
