Here, is a small house I was asked to do. It's a little flat, so I am going to try and get some tree shadows to drop across the front. I did try using V-Ray's DOF, which worked. Usually, the render times are so high, I don't bother.

yah, I'm waiting for the chimney material, so I didn't spend a lot of time on it. I did weld the corners, but something went wrong. It's a problem for tomorrow. I started this one this morning, so I'm drained.

Here, is an update. This is a friend of the 'no shadow' house, so I assumed she didn't want shadows. When I showed her the first version above, she asked if I can have some shadows across the front. From trees, since the house is in a wooded area. I told her the 'no shadow' story and she was amused. Also, it ended up that the chimney's are stucco and not brick and the siding wasn't a yellow, but a gray. She sent me a photo of the siding, which I sampled, but the photo she sent wasn't stained yet; silly!

Here is an update and the right side, which I agree, gives more depth to the building.

A little OT, but as someone who has to mow a lot of grass (I live on an acerage) I cringe when I see grass growing right up to the house , especially with the windows so close to the ground. I have smashed two car windows and a large double sliding door glass with stones kicking up from the mower.

Anyway, I prefer the right side image too
