We had 4 weeks to get all the 3d done from animatic to finals, between 2 of us. Was really tight. Comp guys spent about 2 weeks as well.
They overlapped so it was 5 weeks in total.

Do you guys get sent any cad data for the cars, or do you buy pre-modelled ones or what? I've always wondered.

Audi marketing provide the models in a variety of formats, but they come from RTT Deltagen so are quite a mess normals and material wise.
We got the Maya model, which I then had to get into Max. Pretty heavy models, no vertex welds etc. We didn't have time to clean them up properly, so they worked out to about 900mb uncompressed.
