  • WIP - Yacht interior

    Hello,

    Just an image is in production these days. The quality of materials (glossiness and so on), is still not for production. We have a lot of things to do , for modeling and ligthing. C&C will be VERY appreciated .

    Original image resolution 2800x2000. 5/6 subdivisions in glossiness, irradiance map + lightmap.

    Thanks in advance

          Thanks for reply!

          Yeah , is one of the first production trying with this new method. As i told before i have lot of things to do on this image and on the model.. anyway , i'm on the way

          Hope someone has some good tip to improve the realism. I'm not still satisfied.

          Cheers,
          Marco

            very nice work!!

            i especially like the wood mat......
            the first problem I see with it is your glows and lans flare....I'd say tone that down quite a bit becasuse right now it's really competing for attentation with the rest of the image....it's like I have to look through a screen of glows/flares to see the image

            also I think your lighting is a bit too even....it seems as if the every object in the image is hit by pretty much the same light intensity which flatens it out....one way to reduce that is maybe have the lights bouces die earlier/sooner so that there are some darker areas in the scene creating some more contrast and therefore making objects pop out at the viewer......right now everything is a bit too even.

            other then that then modeling and materials are great
            nice work! (ottimo lavoro, Marco )

            paul.

            PS: also your camera angle could be a little higher, as in typical eye height...say 6 feet/ 1.80 meters ....it would make the bed feel less overwhelming......just a thought

              OMG?!?!...is that a Yacht ?

              I cant imagine the size of that thing......and neither the amount of money you have to have to buy one of those....

              Great image, man.

                @Cocolas,

                Grazie Paul!! ... i agree with you about lens flare, but it was just a little test to see how it works ...sure i will change it for production.

                about the lighting... I understood , and agree with what u were saying... i will try some alternative solutions.. to see what happens.

                @jedisalf

                ... the entire boat is about 120 feet ... don't think at the cost... u can get crazy ...

                    Nice work Marco I agree with Paul. It's just a little too much crisp artificial light for my taste but sometimes these interiors are lit up pretty well. Are there not any windows in this room? If not, could you maybe have some natural light through the door coming from an adjoining room lit by daylight? The wood looks excellent as well as that textured wallpaper. I like the subtle falloff you have on the white pillow but it doesn't come across on the striped ones. I bet you've noticed this but is there something wrong with the mapping on the right of the mattress?

                    Great job keep it up

                      your on a right way- nice rendering -good materials, is this the new material with faked highlights? wich kind of lights are you using? ies - vray or just ordinari max lights? nice to see the lightsorces realy good in the reflexions - did you use the new selfiluminatet material - reflexion of the pulps from the lights on the top sides of the bed are looking a little be strong for me - but all togheter it´s on the way to a realy good realistic atmosphere!
                      is there some postwork in photoshop or straight out from max/vray?

                        First of all, thanks again!

                        @cocolas

                        LOL!!!... who knows.. if it is.. he doesn't deserve so much work from me ... (ehm... ok .. no politics here... :P )

                        @J_Bug

                        Hello Jon, i agree... but i have only one natural small source light. I will post another image to show it... but i don't think i can get too much light from there.

                        @schorsch5

                        Hi.

                        Yeah, this is the new hilight glossiness. I am using IES lights and a little vraylight outside the window (not visible from this camera). I will take a look to reflections. Architects wants a very bright wood. Not too much post processing... just some lens flare experiments , and a bit desaturated.

                        Cheers,

                          Nice work, I want one of those

                          Just need to fix the mapping on the side of the matress and you'll be right

                          I like the wood around the base of the bed.

                            Marco no problem with the render....it's the yacht's design witch isn't so beautiful....it's so old-fashion.....btw the image seems to in the right way....Hope to see the final soon.
