  • Nakagin Capsule Tower

    Hi Folks,
Long time no see. Here's my latest personal project, which I'd been working on for the past three months, very much on-and-off. It is my rendition of Kisho Kurokawa's 1972 Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo. It was also an attempt at building a detailed urban set. All modeled in 3ds Max and rendered in V-Ray (of course). The scene uses Itoosoft's RailClone extensively. Other plugins used include Forest Pack and GrowFX for the vegetation. You'll find more info and more shots on my blog.
I've also posted a large series of test renders that illustrate the modeling process from scratch.
Hope you like it and, as always, very grateful for your feedback.

Annoyingly good as usual - it'd be interesting to know your through process and what you were looking at for each of the wip steps, It'd be great to have a commentated walkthrough of something like this!

ha.. finally ive found *one* tiny, teeny flaw in one of your images! the closeup of the top of the tower. i see a single texture repeat on the rusted cladding.. for some reason that makes me feel vaguely better about my own work.

                    as always Bertrand.. stunning.

some developer can probably make more money with a modern box store; probably a Walmart.
