  • Lobby - revised....

    hey all,
    since I haven't posted in quite a while, I figured I put something up here....
    this one is a lobby that I did a couple months back and it came back for design changes and other things.....I took the chance to improve on some of the lighting and mats....

    I was going for a more artsy look/feel rather then photreal.....

    let me know.

      hi Paul,

      Looks Great for me!!!

      Maybe just the glass... (more the upper one)... is a little too blue... but is just a detail.

      Cheers,
      Marco

        thanks hydro......

        I know I don't like that material on the column base either....but they (the interior designers) choose that for the base...it's a weird blueish/greysh granite stone......it looks odd even in reality.......I probably would've put stainless steel if I had the choice

        as for render times.......it took a while, because most mats have glossy reflections on them.....same with all the glass...soft glossy relflections.
        plus a lot of work in post (Pshop)......

        I'd say rendertime was about 8 to 10 hours for a 2000 wide at high settings (GI and glossies).....on a dual Xeon at 2.4 ghz w/ 1 GB of ram....

              Very nice, Paul. I really like the soft look of the image. I can see that you used a lot of glossy reflections, nice.
