  • Monster Project 2015

I took part in the fantastic Monster Project (http://www.gomonsterproject.com) once again this year. If you don't know what it is, the idea is that a load of kids come up with monsters and then a bunch of artists create their interpretation of them

    Here's the kid's drawing I picked:

    And my take on it:

Modelling a mix between ZBrush and 3ds Max, 'fur' was created using ZBrush's FiberMesh.

I love the fact that the monster has sharp teeth, two long stinger and still brings a hammer (which to be fair I would have guessed as being a blow dryer from the drawing).
But yeah like James said "Nailed it"

Yeah, I had to take some artistic license/interpretation. I decided that the construction crew had disturbed a creature from it's sleep and it was going to trash their machines with it's lucky blue hammer.

The biggest fear with a project like this is that the kid had something super specific in mind when they drew the picture and you get it wrong

It's a shame the Kickstarter doesn't ship to the uk

Awsome project! The image is great and I love that you put the original drawing in there as well!

This makes my current arch-vis project seem kind of dull
