anyway, i forgot to tell you that i reset vray , reassign sun enviro and untick vraydirt into the mat ( it seems to have a big impact on render time, moreover with brute force i think vraydirt is really not necessary...) mienda
I think that at these big screen's resolutions i would switch to irradiance if you want quick renders, BF is always too much time consuming, it is beautiful but not always adapted to our deadlines
I think that at these resolutions, you don't have to go very hight with your irradiance map ( low or med preset perhaps with a little detail enhancement(if you have too much splotches with fine details). With all the furnitures, textures and lights i'm sure that you render it Will render faster with irradiance than brute force with a good quality
Another similar project I'm on IRR and BF have basically the same render times and BF has 0 fiddling time. It's is an exterior shot and IRR was using the low preset. Bobby Parker www.bobby-parker.com
Ok but i think that exteriors are faster to render ( there are no big differences between irradiance and brute force, your scene is a good exemple with exteriors and interiors cams) but on interiors irradiance is much more faster than BF (from my experience).
lets wait till you got materials and geometry inside, we can call a test on irmap vs bf. But it kinda goes back to that simple example I did in your other thread.

my other scene is complete. I'll do some more testing
Try it with a very low or preset for irradiance, with materials, textures and lights, the "bad GI"(compared with BF) is less visible and much faster . the goal is to do a picture and most of the time i can't wait 9 or 12h for a "perfect one" ...we are not working with maxwell or corona (wich are greats but vray is much more modular and flexible and moreover photoshop is a great and fast friend ! )
I do use low IRR preset, however, to get rid of splotches I have to set it to 100/50. I guess I can try detail enhancement, but in my experience, it adds a ton of render time.
