In all honesty, I did wonder why they weren't using you guys. If it makes you feel better about it (and it probably won't), we're just two guys sat in a room in Norwich (not quite the heady world of Soho!) and I ended up doing the whole Slimer project on my own - so while I totally get what you're saying, I think we were actually the low-budget choice in that particular case.

All good geezer, just agencies having a very short term view.

But you forget the number one rule of agency peeps...

We must travel on the client dime any time we can.

It's all about getting out of the office and f-ing around... The bigger the agency the more this is the case. I have actually had the account folks dictate the hotel we stayed at on location based not on how well it worked for the shoot, but on its proximity to their favorite shopping in London.

And on the production company side, they make their profit as a percentage markup on the cost of the live action shoot, so the more expensive they can make that, the larger their markup is. Back in my ad days there'd be a tonne of expensive options on green screen shoots which made the post and final result way harder in the grand scheme of making the ad - So much for acting on behalf of your client's best interests

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Ditto on both accounts! Nice to see a reel from someone who can walk and chew gum at the same time... as they rig and sim a character.

No, not at all, though I wouldn't mind sweating a bit less.
