    Hello

It´s my first time to post here, but i have been following the page since i heard about Vray. Now that have it, and that i´m developing my first project with it, i need your help, and your wise advise please.

The lilnk below, shows a wip that i am at the moment, i´m pretty happy with it, but every time i send a sample to the client, showing the current state of the work, he seis to me that i´m in the way, but still needs realism, and that he is sure that in the final image the shadows will be well worked ( ) and the glass will have the proper reflections ( ) and so on.
The truth is that i am disoriented, don´t know if it´s me who can´t realise that this is crap, or what?

Please i need your critic eyes to find what´s wrong with this image, and of course teachme how i can improve it.

Do you think the GI is right? is the image lacking depth?

Please be aware that this is a wip and lots of things are still in development, what i´m asking right now is more about the feel of realism that it should transmit.

    BTW, sorry for my english

Hi octopus, and welcome to the forum.

I can see what he is saying about the shadows. They are very hard. You should use area shadows with your sunlight and maybe a little light orange color in the light as well. The shadows are most apparent with the shadows of the trees that are not in camera. I can count the leaves. Thats not good!

The reflections are a litttle more subjective on his part. They should be reflecting some of the bright blue sky but I can't see it in the reflections. Did you just apply a map in the reflection slot of the material?

The grass looks good. The pool water looks good as well. The hanging plants need some work. They don't look very real and they all seem to be concentrated on one end of the building.

Overall I think its a nice image that just needs a little more tweeking to get it just right. I hope this helps!

      TRGraphics:

Thank you, i know what you are talking about the foregronud shadows, i was thinking in rendering a separate layer for shadows, and then blur them in PS. With the disp grass, i the size the final image has to be, i think the area shadows are going to be very slow.

My mayor concern is the look of the building it self, i think part of the unrealistic look is because of the colours being used, maybe is necesary some dirt to bring it to life?

Maybe you should work on your environement.... Give to your pic a happy mood ........I mean an atmosphere which match with the place.

        - the sky is too dark..... Give it a nice clear blue. According to your shadows which is correct, the sky seems a cloudy day......
        - you can lower the contrast level of the grass to make it more matching with the shadows... (the sun is really bright)
        - the rocks are too yellow. need to be more grey ....I think

        The water is great. Congrat

            Great images octopus!,

The water caustics in the night image are great, could you share the setup??

I like the images - they have a dream like quality but perhaps that is not what you want

I think the building colours are too saturated - bright sun would 'wash out' the colours a bit more, especially further from the camera - also the child at the side of the pool is too large

but maybe these are now final - if so ignore my comments!

                Thnak you.

Bpozas: the caustics are fake, it´s just a spot light with a map projected, i did´n have the time to learn how to do it with caustics.

Glyph: yes that dreamy feeling that you mentioned, was the idea. Thats why in the night shot the moon is so dramatically huge.
