  • Vacation House

A Wisconsin contractor called me awhile back and he purchased a small cabin that he wanted to turn into a vacation/rental house. I really let this one get away and I didn't manage it very well. He changed things over and over and he took forever to return emails. Anyway, the exteriors are about done. Personally, I think he should have hired a professional designer. The contractor and wife did the design and I think that it is too busy. On the first image I am fixing the garage door, but other than that, I am pleased with them.

I knew you guys would complain about sharp edged stones, so I used PS's liquify tool to push things in and out, which worked great.

design wise is a crappy house...It looks like the fireplace doesn't have the height by code...the roof with the slope against the wall and windows, etc.... They wanted save money hiring an architect.

about the renderings the color grading is too cold and halos around the leaves (1st view) need some work.
            show me the money!!

I think the design is hideous and it was hard to get excited about this one. I am not sure why I am getting halos, it's an HDRI and I never see this happening. I tried to lighten the sky, but it just would not get brighter, no matter how high I set the multiplier. The contractor and his wife thumbed through books and sent me clippings. It turned out like a Frankenstein house, in my opinion. As far as cold, I'll put a lens filter on it.
