          hi

I think the room lacks detail, there is a good amount of light, but the repition of textures for the books and low detail spoils the image.

Curtains: If animation is not needed, I usually model by creating a couple CV curves and lofting - draw the first curve as a squigly line in the XY plane and place this at the top of your curtain. Then copy the curve down in Z so its at the halfway point and shift some of its CVs around. Then copy this curve down in Z again so it's at the bottom of the curtain and shift some of its CVs as well for randomness. Go back and scale each curve in the direction perpendicular to the curtain plane. The top curve should be scaled inward so that it's "squiggle" is the tightest, and the bottom curve should be scaled outward to create a billowing effect. Then create a U loft out of the 3 curves - you can further scale and move the surface CVs if you want to bunch up the curtain at any point. Or sculpt with an FFD modifier.

For texturing, use a decent fabric bitmap, but make sure to use a falloff map for refraction - the falloff should be set up so that perpendicular to the camera is semi-transparent and parallel to the camera is opaque - combine this with a little bit of glossy refractions and you should be good to go. good luck!

I have the same Problem with my images. The textures looks so flat and have no details. What's the reason for that?

great renderings! I noticed, though, that the handles on the cabinets do not look attached to the doors, and they look like they're floating.

Hi i have to agree with natty, the lightning of the scene is very good but the the texturing of the bookcase and books are quiet bad, when you do images like this i mean when it is very clear what you see, you have to bee very careful with your textures the repitition of the same bookcovers texures looks realy bad and i think the woodtexture on the bookcase looks blown upp this is only my oppnion, and just an advice to make the image look even better.

And something outside of the theme i think that all of you that write in another language than english or english US could try to send a private message to the one it concern or at least try to make an translation because it is quiet anoying for us that does not understand spanish, italian, turkish, japaneese, chineese and so on....i would also like to write in swedish for an example but i think that is dissrespect for the other users in this forum. Dont make a big deal of my message this is just an suggestion

                              best regards Linda
