        How long does something like this take with the scanline? Did the tree die while waiting for the render :P

              Ahhh i remember reading your tut....aaagggeeesss ago. I had made a similar technique for making tress, but it creats a much bigger branch count. see it below, this one is my first attempt, about 3 years ago, so as you can see the mesh smooth needs some refinement...
