I could use some fresh eyes on this one. I’m looking for an inviting and soft look, but I think it looks a bit ‘dead’ instead. Especially the dark windows feels as if they need more life but it didn't work well when I tried to light up the interior.

Might want to try a different lighting maybe? More of an evening sun?

In PS stick on a curve with "medium contrast preset"
Then stick a color balance over and make highlights slighly more cyan and blue. Shadows a LOT more red and yellow
Done for a 2 second job.

But like Vizioen mentioned, a different sun angle could also help
      Kind Regards,
      Morne

Thanks guys, I will try some other lighting schemes and see if that lives things up. It needs to be a daylight though so I'll have to try an evening sun later. I did put on a warming filter earlier which I think helped.

Morne, I tried the color balance adjustments and I think that improved things, but the contrast made it to dark, I haven't calibrated my screen for a while so I may have to look into that.

Gave it a quick shot in photoshop too, might have overdone it a bit. I also suggest giving more breathing room to the house by backing up or expanding your view a bit.

I tweaked some more in PS and lightened up the porch area, which made it a bit happier. In my desperation I also added some birds.

Hmm, so more warming. I added some in between what you did and I agree that improves it a bit. It is difficult to back much more as there is a dense tree on the rights side and a driveway/fence area on the left. I could possible go for a bit wider camera.

Hope you dont mind, I did a bit of a paint over. Please ignore if you dont like what I am suggesting

Its the composition that is hurting the image,

the beams on the carport are way too big and overpowering the house.
the purple flowers in the fore ground are grabbing too much attention and stopping the eye from traveling into the scene.
lower the hedges/bushes along the driveway so you have a clear view of the front door access.
the lighting is rather flat, swing the sun around to just over the right, catching the edge of the house, get a few interesting shadows on the grass to help lead the eye to the front door
the sports car is out of context for that house, rather a luxury sedan and park it outside the garage.
lastly there is a purple cast over the whole image

                  Thanks, great freedback!

Agree about the beams, that made a huge difference.
Also agree about shadows on the grass and against door. I did a couple of tries with this but had issues with hot areas on all the white trim, but will work more on it.
Lowering the hedge/bush will be an issue, as the beams on the carport isn't really a carport but a walkway that separates the driveway from the garden. I'll try some other vegetation instead.

I think I need to calibrate my screen. Vizioen's shot made it look a bit too faded on mine whereas yours seems to take it too far green. I think I have a Spyder somewhere.

mine is very green, too much so

make the walkway beams an arbor and grow some vines over it
