    The Boat House

    Hi,

    My First Post.

    I was and am and will be really inspired with Corey Butlers work. His Boat House is my inspiration.



    This won a award on www.3dm-mc.com

    Thanks to all on Maxforums. For what I am in 3D is all due to them.

    Hi, nice image!

    Nice textures, nice lighting, nice composition..

    The are only two minor things that bother me,

    -The mountains in the back don't seem right in my eyes, but I don't know what it is.. maybe the scale or the color.

    -The window/black box in the house.. it would be nice to see a little bit interior.

      First thing this Work was done a month back and I was thinking of working on it again.

      It took me 38 mintues to render.
      piv 256 mb ram geforce 2 mmx 64 mb.

      Using Vray Free Version for it.

      I know that mountain gives it away.
      Also, window doesnt seem to be there.

          nice pick of a theme, you dont have glossy reflections, if you do, you will probably still rendering.

            The roof was made using Grass-o-mattic for max 5 and then imported as a 3ds in Max 6.

                I like the roof and the modelling and atmossphere. very realistic lighting
                my only critique is the back mountains.
                and may you can add caustic reflections from water to the deck, it can be great

                  hi!

                  1. the lower deck looks as if it was made of one piece of wood. It could be be more detailed, just like the upper one (that looks fine)
                  2. if there is grass on the roof, it needs to grow on something (ground). Grass that grows straight from wood doesn't look to real to me
                  3. as Giraffe's already said, those mountains in the back are not that good

                  the rest of Your work looks good to me
