What do you think to this folks?

    Bentleys 01
    by Phil Grayston, on Flickr

It's just an idea I've wanted to try out for a while now, and it's something different to the usual architectural stuff I do.

Something about it doesn't sit right with me, but I'm not quite sure what. So any pointers would be great. I think it looks sharper due to Flickr btw.

    Cheers

Needs a lot of work doesn't it.. Clearly I'm out of my depth with a scene like this. I'll try with a simpler setup for now.

      Most needed is a driver!

I think your camera angle's letting you down a bit. The combination of a wide angle lens and the car being over to the side of the frame makes it look very distorted.
I'd try and find some real advertising shots of the Continental GT if I were you, and see if you can mimic the kind of composition Bentley tend to go for.

        Cheers,

          Thanks John, Oli

It's probably all your fault I had a go at this anyway John, as following your work was the main inspiration!

The original plan for this was planning how I could photograph 2 race cars at once. Which then morphed into me pushing it further and trying to get a decent image out of it.. using one of the better 3D models I have, the Bentley GT. Clearly, I need more practice!

          Thanks for the tips

Thanks very much! Very kind of you to say so.

I think you just need to either move the camera further away and use a longer lens, which should flatten out the car nearest to us, or shift the whole composition to the right so the near car is centred in the frame, and that way it'll distort less.
A lot of photographers would shoot the two cars independently and then comp them together.

            Cheers,
