Here is a project that I am working on. The client had a drop deadline date of September 1st, however, they took three weeks to get me colors and materials. It went smooth, so far; I started the colors and materials yesterday.

Exposing things in the VFB is a dream. I have tried Adobe's Camera Raw, and Random Control's Photoshop plug-in, but V-Ray seems to handle it the best. I might warm them up a little, but other than that, I am liking them. I had some candles, using a V-Ray SSS material, and it made the scenes un-renderable. I was waiting over an hour for pre-pass, however, once I removed the candles, each view rendered in less than an hour.

They look perfect. You've got your consistency sorted now too!

I'm a bigger fan of this style of architecture than a lot of your more traditional commissions - great stuff.

Thank you! I thought V-Ray was failing my until I narrowed it down to the SSS materials. I even purchased a seat of Corona. I might run it through Corona, just to see the difference.

Fruit too dark, fire too overexposed, wonky perspective on the outside city in the bathroom shot?

Might be a tiny bit too much contrast on them now, pushing the shadows and floor into a slightly dark place?

Those outside photos are always a problem. These are what the client gives me, which are Google Map views. I as for high-resolution professional photos before I start and the agree that they'll provide them. After asking for a month, I get the Google Maps screen grabs. I can easily brighten the apples and floors.

Yeah - might be worth making some perspective guides for yourself from boxes and planes then distorting the mages in photoshop to sit better - even cutting out the faces of each building and using the distort tool so they fit with the perspective of your window.

I actually did some corrections in Photoshop. Those are street level photos that I had to drastically correct the parallax to make it look like it is the 4th floor view.

Better - the fire can't be worked with if the image you're using is already clipped off, darkening it is going to drop your white down to a grey instead, I'd swap for another image instead. The buildings are indeed a toughy, no matter what you do with them it'll always look like you're below and looking up at them so they've a sense of collapsing backwards - I'd try and replace or go for a bit of hazing to hide the issue or render with dof so it can be blurred a bit - anything to hide the issue in this case.

Would it even be worth doing a bertrand benoit and just using simple 3d buildings outside?

Good to be talking about such specific points though, the rest of the work is great!

Thanks! I tried to overexpose the outside, but maybe a good blur would work. I like the use of geometry for the buildings. When the project is done, I'll have to go back and do that,

Tiny bit oversaturated on the red brick and wicker basket in the last one for me plus the annoyance with the perspective of the outside but the first two are spot on. Well done.

People! I guess my work was making its way up the chain and the person requesting these finally got a copy to review. My contract specifically says how many reviews and I answer to one person. It's done, rendered at 4K, so now let's show it to the boss! What do you do? I guess if you want to keep them happy, you just do what you are told. All they can do is not pay and/or not use me again.

Anyway, some updates. I am not sure if it is any better.
