  • 3d head (canceled project-client unhappy)

Yep it happened. In my 15 years 3d history it's the first time it happened. Client wasn't happy with my work and canceled.
Maybe I'm too honest but just want to show that it's not always rainbows and butterflies
I worked with 3d scan model, cleaned in Zbrush. Done 5 maps for skin that I used in vraySkinMtl. Rendered in Vray. I used max hair and fur for hair, eyebrows and eylashes.
    And here's the piece:

Maybe, it was to good. No, really. I had a client pull the plug becasue their client thought it looked too real. I think you nailed it!

Thanks Bobby. It was really strange situation. There wasn't any real feedback what he didn't like, what I should change etc I know there's lot to fix but also let's be honest the budget wasn't like for Benjamin Button Brad Pitt 3d head

What would someone want a 3D head for?

Great job ! I woudn't able to reach that level of realism.

my 2 cents on why he cancelled :

          - You're right in the middle of the uncanny valley
          - He just changed his mind and didn't understood how much work was already done

Maybe you should just ask, sometimes the're happy to explain.

That makes sense. You would think they would have before/after photos for at least some clients. I hope you got paid for what you did and at least got a deposit. This is a good learning moment for people on why that deposit check is important.

Only got 20% of total project worth. But to be honest it was my mistake because I broke the rule not to work for clients from my country

always take full amount from clients or 80 percent before any project starts

yes because its easy to work through any freelance website and they act and a temporary bank and mediator between freelancers and clients so its a win win for both parties

Lol, for me it's 0% beforehand and so far I've lost roughly 0,1% of my income by doing this over the course of ten years.
